Megan Quinlan the captain of the Market Rasen Ladies team is under the spotlight this week. We asked Megan to talk us through her cricket journey including some highlights along the way.
Q) When did you first start playing cricket?
A) I started playing tapeball cricket in year 3 when I would play in my brother’s school team that my dad was running!
Q) What club do you play for?
A) I play for Market Rasen CC
Q) How long have you represented the county for?
A) I think I was 12 when I started playing county cricket and made I my debut at Cleethorpes CC.
Q) What is your most memorable moment on a cricket field?
A) My most memorable moment this season was my first game wicket keeping and it started with some of the Loughborough Lightning girls (such as Kathryn Bryce) bowling (nice way to settle in) 🤣
Q) What is your most memorable playing moment in a Lincs shirt?
A) My most memorable moment for county was when I was bowling and had figures of 6-22.
Q) What is your most memorable moment in a Rasen shirt?
A) For club, it must be when my elder brother scored his maiden century, and I was at the other end.
Q) What do you most enjoy about playing cricket?
A) What I most enjoy about playing cricket is seeing all the different abilities come together and give the sport a go. I also love the friendships that people can make within a team and from that support each other. And of course, the winning 😉
Q) What does playing cricket in a women’s team mean to you?
A) It means we are pushing the women’s game in the right direction and that we are making a difference across the country by trying to involve other women to play this great sport.
