Celebrating our Volunteer Month – Part 8

In this week’s third post, we will be looking at Sean Clixby, who has been nominated in the Proactive Leadership category.
Over the course of the Covid pandemic, Sean has been a major player for both Broughton CC and Broughton Football Club. Alongside all the work he has done for the club and community, during lockdown Sean took it upon himself to engage the entire community by creating cricket and other sporting challenges that he posted on Facebook.
Once lockdown ended and cricket could resume, Sean played an instrumental role in getting the cricket club Covid ready for both cricket matches and senior & junior training.
Along with this Sean has continued to engage schools beyond Broughton, delivering to them pre-lockdown and during time away from school.
Sean is also the leading All-stars activator in the area and encouraged 50 new sign-ups for this year. Although the sessions did not go ahead as they did pre-lockdown, once Stage 4 cricket returned, Sean ran a fun and enjoyable set of sessions for kids across all age groups. His hard work and determination has seen the club’s junior section perform above expectations, with their U11A team becoming undefeated champions of their league this summer.
We would like to congratulate Sean on his nomination and commend him for all the hard work he continues to do.
