Celebrating our Volunteers Month – Part 5

Today we look at our 3rd nominees in the #raisethebat category – Paul Cook and Martyn Dobson.
Paul and Martyn have both been nominated in recognition of their fantastic Top to Bottom Challenge.
The journey saw them start at 5am on 1st June from Barton upon Humber CC, the most northerly club in the county, and finish at 1:45pm the next day as they reached the most southerly club in the county, Stamford CC, passing as many cricket grounds as they could along the way.
In total during the run, Paul and Martyn travelled almost 100 miles down the county, raising a total of £7,500 in the process. The money raised was split between two different charities with both Chance to Shine and The Samaritans benefitting from it, as well as providing funding for Lincolnshire-based cricket clubs.
This meant that clubs could provide hand sanitizer and cleaning sprays, aiding the resumption of cricket in the county, as well as helping out clubs financially in what has been a tough year for all.
We would like to congratulate Paul and Martyn on their nomination for this award and would also like to thank them for their amazing charity work.
