Chance to Shine

Spreading the Power of Cricket

Chance to Shine is a national charity on a mission to spread the power of cricket throughout schools and communities. It takes cricket to new places and uses it to ignite new passions, teach vital skills, unite diverse groups, and educate young people across the whole country.

Since 2005 the Chance to Shine Schools Programme has helped reverse the decline in cricket in state schools. The charity works in close partnership with Lincolnshire County Cricket and the other 38 County Cricket Boards to give boys and girls in over 10,000 schools the chance to play and learn through cricket.

In addition to the national picture Lincolnshire Cricket delivers Chance to Shine on a local level. Through our network of coaches we offer bespoke packages to primary and secondary schools covering; curriculum coaching, extra- curricular sports clubs, intra competition inter-school competition teacher awareness training and young leadership training through our activator courses.

All our school activity is intrinsically linked with a comprehensive club development programme utilizing Chance to Shine as a delivery mechanism to introduce new junior clubs and strengthen existing youth-player provision. We have been successful over the last 10 years and we continue to plan, deliver and experience the benefits of this wonderful programme supporting the future of cricket in Lincolnshire.
