It is with a heavy heart that we learn that Nick Coulson passed away earlier this week following a battle with cancer. Our heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to his wife, Sharon, and his family.
Nick was a great servant to cricket over many decades. He was a member of the Lincoln & District Cricket Umpires & Scorers Association for over 30 years and was a regular stalwart who umpired on every Saturday and Sunday in the Lincolnshire League and Lincoln League for many years. Nick was a Vice-President of the Association.
Nick was 70 years old. Up to his retirement he was a driver and warehouseman for local builders merchants Jackson Shipley.
Nick was a very respected umpire who retired from officiating at the end of the 2018 season. Many of you would have been umpired by him, or even may have stood with him. You may also have seen him down at Sincil Bank as he was a regular supporter of the Imps.
He was a larger than life character, with a wonderful dry sense of humour, he will be sadly missed by many.
Funeral arrangements have yet to be made but with the current Covid 19 restrictions these are likely to be restricted to close family only.
